10 Things to Do this Summer by Shabnam M.
Are you bored this summer? Here are 10 fun things to do!
1. Plant a flower
If you didn't plant one yet, you're missing out on a lot! Not only are the flowers pretty, but they feel like a friend, or like a pet. All you need is one small pot and a flower or flower seeds! You can get these materials at flower stores. Make sure your flower gets enough water and sunlight!
2. Go outside and Play!
Just playing frisbee, riding a bike or a scooter, or kicking around a soccer ball will work! So will playing on a playground! Make sure to wear sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
3. Conduct science experiments
Science experiments with your friends are really fun! Do some research at the library or on the Internet. Then get the materials and do your experiment! It can range from anything, from cereal to glue!
4. Redo your room
Make your room reflect your personality! Take everything off your walls, everything off your bed, and everything off your dresser and desk. Then start putting things back that you like, and don't put things back that you don't like. Put up some of your recent drawings. Get a new blanket. Polish your desk. Collect things from the house that you like and put them in your room!
5. Play a game every day
Whether it's a board game, a computer game, a sports game, or a game you made up, play a game every day to add more fun to your life!
6. Make Crafts or Artwork
It's fun to make crafts or artwork! Draw or paint a picture. Go back to previous issues of MAG and do the crafts in those issues (and this month's craft, too!). Do some scrapbooking! Have fun with your creative side!
7. Set Goals for Yourself
What do you want to do or achieve? Do you want to stop a bad habit? Set a goal! If you do not want to watch too much TV, say "I will not watch TV for a week." After one week, you may get the hang of it and stop watching too much TV altogether! If you want to become a better artist, say "I will draw a picture every day." Do this and you'll be a great artist in no time!
8. Read good books
Summer is the chance to catch up on great books! Whatever you heard was recommended, read it!
9. Get Soaked!
Just getting sprayed by a hose or water gun is enough! It not only makes your body feel good, but it makes you feel happy and excited! Have a water fight with your siblings and friends! Have a great time!
10. HAVE FUN!
Summer is all about fun! Make sure you have enough by doing everything on this list! |
