Story: The Missing 5 Dollars by Shabnam M.

Ruqiya went full speed ahead and stopped at the Oddz 'n' Ends Shop with a "squeak!" She was riding her new bike to get milk.

"Ding, ding, ding" went the bell over her head as she stopped inside. There was Ms. Albany, as usual. "Good afternoon, Ruqiya" said Ms. Albany.

Ruqiya said "Hello!" and headed for the food section and grabbed a gallon of milk. She saw all the yummy candies but tried not to tempt herself.

"$5.00, please" said Ms. Albany. She was very nice. Ruqiya reached into her pocket but felt nothing. She reached into her other pocket. Nothing.

"What's wrong?" Ms. Albany asked, leaning over the counter.

"My 5-dollar bill" said Ruqiya nervously. "It's gone!"

"Oh no!" cried Ms. Albany. "Let's check the cameras. Maybe you dropped it somewhere around here."

"Maybe."

Ruqiya watched as there was no luck.

"We'll have to search ourselves" said Ruqiya. Ruqiya retraced her steps. "Allah, please help me find my 5 dollars" she whispered. She went from where she got the milk, and into the candy section. She inspected it and saw a 5-dollar bill on top of some Hershey's chocolates. "Found it!" she shouted as she picked it up.

Ruqiya handed the bill to Ms. Albany. Ruqiya said thank you and headed out the door with the bell going "Ding, ding, ding" over her head.
